Voice Of Sparrow

As the adage goes, where there is a will, there surely is a way out. So, if you are passionate about saving the sparrow, there are enough and more ways of doing it. By penning a few lines on the bird, be it through a poem or a story, writing articles, shooting a small film and sending it to the Nature Forever Society for us to post it on the website, you will be doing your bit to inspire others to save the sparrow. You could also share this with family and friends, making the bird a celebrity of sorts. By doing so and by participating in the contests that we at NFS organize on a regular basis, such as the photo competition and the Biodiversity photo contest, you can be the voice of this tiny bird. Here’s how you can go about it: send in your story, poetry etc on save@natureforever.org

Write a poem for sparrows

Many a times, you must have seen the sparrow either close to your home or when you were on vacation. Just tell us in a few lines what you saw and observed. Who knows, your poetry could inspire others as well!

Sparrow Stories

There are tales to be told and there are plenty of them to be narrated as well. By sharing them with us, you could actually be helping in the conservation and preservation of this bird. Come, be a story teller and in turn, save the sparrow. Share your experience of how by adopting nest boxes and bird feeders, you have been able to play a significant role in the conservation of sparrows. Additionally, you could also tell us about the various stories on sparrows for others to know.

Be a sparrow journalist

Being a sparrow reporter is very simple. All that it needs is reportage of events and chronicles to the NFS so we can publish them. Being journalists, you can also cover the activities that NFS undertakes. As a citizen, you could help circulate the NFS press releases and news in the local media. By writing, observing and reporting the latest tales about the sparrow, not only will you be a sparrow journalist, but will also help us at the NFS strengthen our campaign in saving the sparrow.

Sketch for sparrows

A picture, they say, speaks a thousand words. If you are gifted and illustrate well, why not draw, sketch or paint the sparrow? This way, not only will you hone your artistic skills, but you will also help us spread the word in saving the sparrow

Chirp and tweet

With an increase in social networking sites, you too can post updates and your thoughts on our Facebook and Twitter page. Along with NFS, come; make the sparrow a celebrity of sorts! It would be great if you could also like our Facebook page and share the NFS posters on the wall of the networking site.

Participate in the NFS-Bushnell Bird of the Month photo competition.

The bird of the month photo competition is basically photographing the common bird species of India. These common bird species have always been overlooked from conservation point of view. Such a competition will play a vital role in encouraging people to take much needed interest in these birds by photographing them and keeping a track of these neglected species.

Participate in the Biodiversity photo competition

A photography competition aimed at photographing the wildlife- flora and fauna around the proximity of your house and office. Participation from commoners and also not so professional photographers is encouraged. Even a click on your mobile phone camera will work good when you are really determined to do your bit for conservation. So just look around and explore the biodiversity around you; you never know you might come across something very interesting and that you can share with others through this competition.
